Scottsdale, AZ Case Study

When winter comes and temperatures drop in the Northland, JM Inc. is licensed to complete projects in sunny Arizona. In January, 2023, our team started a bridge restoration project for a client in the North Scottsdale area.

This client’s home was built in the late 1980s. One of many unique features of the property was the beautiful bridge which allowed access from their home to their garage. It was constructed of wood, with a stucco veneer finish, complemented by a unique paver deck. All the pavers had been hand quarried from Guadalajara, Mexico. Over time, however, the bridge’s wood structure had begun to rot and decay.

Decaying wood and sagging structural beams

The clients knew they needed a professional, reliable company to work on their bridge. They contacted JM Inc. in hopes of getting some sound solutions. A Project Consultant went out and met with them on-site to listen to their concerns, needs, and wants for the project.

One very important detail to them was ensuring that the one-of-a-kind pavers on their bridge would remain in the exact same spots when the project was complete. The clients really wanted to make sure they didn’t lose even one of those pavers, as they were no longer available for purchase.

Restoration of stucco facade

The JM Project Consultant jumped right into designing, planning, and engineering a sound solution to rebuild a new bridge to the exact specs and measurements of the existing bridge. The main difference in the design JM came up with was that it was reinforced with masonry and steel.

Even with a lot of moving parts and logistics, the JM team executed the project to perfection. On top of that, the homeowners’ lives were not disrupted during the process, as they were able to safely access their home and garage via a temporary bridge that JM constructed.

The clients now have a safe and secure bridge that will stand the test of time.
